The shift from HTML to XML is the difference that makes a difference. Content and form are no longer tied. It no longer matters what platform you live within; AutoCad, Microstation, Excel, Deep Profile, Ecotect, Archicad, etc. Your content is transferrable (interoperable). So what? The rapid growth of BIM signals a new unifying platform. BIM moves from linear, sequential drafting to concurrent modeling and rapid prototyping. It is a Mindshift of the first order.
