Cultural shift – transformation requires the skills to deconstruct the past and current in order to set those aside. It requires the skills to understand the larger reinforcing cultural traits that perpetuate the past. It requires a deep assessment of internal cultural traits, tangible and intangible reward systems, corporate values and leadership support and modeling. It requires a clear image of the desired state, a realistic expectation of the timeline for transformation, committed resources, external models and mentors to guide the process and an accurate and frequent feedback system. The tools, framework and process can all be eloquently mapped but without cultural change the system will return to its original equilibrium building a higher resistance to future change. |
